The 500T is brighter and doesn't clean up like the 498T when you turn down the volume, they sound thin when cleaned up, IMO. It's a really interesting pickup. It can sound fantastic in some guitars and pretty lackluster in others. Lots of highs and lows. Quite aggressive and punchy.
